Ex Populus Partners With Offchain Labs, Xai Foundation

Firstly, we have been diligently working on Final Form and LAMOverse. Creating exceptional games is a demanding process, and the Ex Populus development team has been fully immersed in perfecting each game to its fullest potential. As part of this update, we have created a roadmap below to outline what’s in store for the remainder of the year. As you will soon discover, Ex Populus has ambitious plans.

Now for the big news, Ex Populus has forged a strategic partnership with Offchain Labs, the masterminds behind Arbitrum, Ethereum’s leading scaling solution. This partnership positions Ex Populus as a key strategic Offchain partner by committing its suite of games to the Arbitrum ecosystem’s first L3, Xai.

Xai Blockchain is a layer 3 blockchain, built with Arbitrum technology. The Xai Blockchain is the backbone of a new decentralized gaming ecosystem. With the help of Ex Populus’ entire game library, Xai can offer a gaming ecosystem with multiple games, a dedicated blockchain, and a new unified token for gas and validator nodes. Ex Populus will act as the “genesis contributor” to the Xai Blockchain, while the ecosystem will open its doors to third-party developers to deploy their video games and gaming related dApps.

The Xai Blockchain, developed by Offchain Labs under direction of the Xai Foundation, was developed to address the needs of web3 gaming at scale. Tailored specifically for gaming, this blockchain offers traditional gamers an abstracted wallet and account experience, provides developers with increased contract limits, and establishes a fully decentralized ecosystem that fosters trust and transparency for all participants. By leveraging Ethereum’s robust security measures, the Xai Blockchain cements its resilience against potential hacks and other vulnerabilities.

To promote decentralization and transparency, an overseas foundation will be established to maintain the Xai blockchain and related technology. This setup aligns with industry best practices, enabling Ex Populus to focus on game development, while the Xai Foundation focuses on game publishing, the blockchain, ecosystem and token. Initially, governance will be handled by the Xai foundation, with plans to gradually transition to a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) governance model. The Xai foundation will also act as the game publisher for games deployed to the Xai Blockchain. This means funding opportunities for games and marketing support, including Ex Populus’ games.

Ex Populus is co-led by the esteemed creative co-founder Mark Harris from Pixar, along with a team of veterans from Ubisoft, Activision, Blizzard, Wargaming and others. This world class team is working diligently on Ex Populus’ upcoming titles, Final Form and LAMOverse. Final Form will launch later this year along with the new Xai blockchain. LAMOverse remains on track for an early access release early next year. These game launches will seamlessly coincide with the establishment of the Xai ecosystem in collaboration with Offchain Labs.
